Cool Video/Elitism-So What/Dept. of Peace/2 More Cartoons/

(P1) Philosophical

The Zimmers

I still love this most wonderful You Tube presentation from England!

(P2) Political

What's all this Republican B.S. about "the elites"? Do we really want a President who can demonstrate the ability to bowl, shoot, and toss back shots of whiskey? We got something like that the last two times around.

Jon Stewart, invoking the image of Jefferson, addressed the E word on The Daily Show recently with "Doesn't elite mean good? If you don't think you're better than us, then what the fuck are you doing? I want a president who's embarrassingly superior to me, speaks 16 languages and sleeps two hours a night in a chamber they themselves designed."

Use Some of Your Stimulus Refund For Peace

Check this out! Joyce and I are going to do it! Just imaginining people some day uttering the words "Secretary of Peace." That's transformative! Peace Project contribution.

Frankly, I'd like to meet an American who knows 16 languages.

We just don't produce that caliber of politician because we seem to worry more about electibility than ability.

How about two languages?

But, there are more than one side to this, as all in life. How far do you want to go? How elite is elite enough?

King George was pretty elite, but we didn't like the way he ran things, so I guess that is too elite. So, where do you draw the line on eliteness?

On the other side we have FDR, who was sort of elite, but is remembered fondly by the blue collar mob as the one who saved their lot's bacon back in '36. Or, so they think.

What we need is a benevolent dictator. All democracies will eventually devour themselves.

Interesting and insightful as always. Thanks so much for the plug on the Peace Alliance
investment campaign. I am a monthly contributor, and it feels good to be supporting
fundamental change in our culture. It seems so connected with every good cause I can
think of: earth, plant, animal, human welfare.

The video was too cool. My Generation indeed! The final shot was a hoot!

Especially appreciated after all the political stuff. Not to mention my own personal heavy duty projects of late including immigrant rights and Holocaust Remembrance.

More laughter is called for!
