This banner is on the exterior of the Wells Fargo Bank I frequently use in Carson City:
"Envie Hasta $3000 por dia a Mexico, Guatemala o El Salvador por solo $8."
My extremely limited Spanish translates this as "Send $3000 a day to Mexico, Guatemala or El Salvador for only $8. It is estimated that between $30 billion and $40 billion a year is sent from the US to these countries by illegal and legal immigrants. Is it any wonder that Vincente Fox wants the stream of illegals to continue? By one recent account this flow of funds amounts to about 30% of Mexico's annual economy! Now the US banks are promoting the transfer of US $ out of the country to make $8 a shot? I have many more thoughts on this subject.
Regarding globol warming, I have heard a sentiment that says that the Christian Right Wing Repubs (a.k.a Christo-Fascists) are not concerned about global warming since (hopefully)
the Rapture will come before that. Now I've heard that the Christo-Fascists,
a.ka. our leaders, would like to facilitate that apocalypse, as exemplified by their current behavior and their future agenda. True?
